The Nano Banana API for editing photos with a prompt.
Send a photo and an instruction, get the edited image back from one call. Nano Banana is Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash Image. About $0.07 per edit, prepaid credits that never expire.
What it is
Nano Banana is the nickname for Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model, the one people reach for when they want to change a real photo rather than generate one from scratch. Swap an outfit, replace a background, drop in a product, change an object, all while the subject stays consistent. PixelFireman exposes it through the same /v1/images endpoint you already use, with Bearer auth, prepaid credits that never expire, and built in moderation on every prompt.
More details
One call, an edited image back
Post an input image (a data URI or a public https URL) plus a prompt describing the change. The response returns the edited image URL, the exact credits used, and your remaining balance.
# photo + instruction -> edited image curl https://pixelfireman.com/v1/images \ -H "Authorization: Bearer pf_live_..." \ -H "content-type: application/json" \ -d '{"image":"https://.../photo.jpg", "prompt":"change the jacket to bright red, keep the face"}' # -> { "image":"https://...", "creditsUsed":11, "usage":{"creditsLeft":1389} }
A standard one megapixel edit draws about 11 credits, roughly $0.07 at the $50 Pro pack. Credits are prepaid and never expire, there is no subscription, and a failed edit is never billed. Payment is PayPal, or crypto through PayerURL.
What it is good at
Generate as well as edit
Not every job is an edit. The same API key generates brand new images with Flux at about $6.25 per 1,000, so you can create a scene and then refine it with Nano Banana from one integration and one wallet. See the low cost image API and the developer image API pages for the generation side.
